overview Department students are fortunate to have the resources of the Tweed Museum of Art available in the School of Fine Arts. Tweed's program supports the interests and needs of art students; exhibitions and the permanent collection are available for class visits and study. All B.F.A. art and art education majors present an exhibition of their artwork in the Tweed during their senior year. Students are admitted directly into the art history and art B.A. majors. Students who wish to pursue the art education K-12, graphic design or studio B.F.A. degree programs are initially admitted into "pre-" tracks of these programs until they have successfully completed the portfolio review specific to their desired major. Portfolio reviews are no-cost/no-credit courses which facilitate the review of the student's work by a panel of faculty in the major discipline. Requirements vary by major; see the downloadable portfolio review documents listed with each major. |
