Workshops with Credit Options
Credit Options for pre-K - 12 educators and others.
Continuing Education (CE), in collaboration with the College of Education and Human Service Professions, works with school districts or other organizations to add a collegiate graduate or undergraduate credit option to inservices and professional development workshops.
Components of the Workshops with Credit Options program include:
- No charge for CE to set up and offer the credit option
- Competitive pricing structure: a reduced UMD semester credit fee is paid by the participant ($88 for 2008-2009)
- Customized registration services
- Minimum of 7.5 instruction hours for one-half credit; 15 hours of class = 1 credit
- UMD Instructor of Record determines and grades the credit assignment
- Participants pursuing credit complete additional assignments to be reviewed and graded by UMD's Instructor of Record
- A - F grading on participants' UMD transcripts; transcripts available online
- Instructor of Record paid by CE
- Workshop proposals must be approved prior to the semester in which credit will be given.
