List UMD identity standards Introduction Chancellor Kathryn A. Martin has worked with the advertising agency, Westmorelandflint, to develop new identity standards for UMD. The standards went into effect in October 2006. The use of these guidelines will present an image to the community that shows the University of Minnesota Duluth as a unified, strong organization. UMD is part of the University of Minnesota system but at the same time it functions as a separate University with unique challenges and opportunities. This graphic identity signals our common mission. It also marks the University of Minnesota Duluth as a prestigious university in its own right. Two offices on campus will assist departments with the implementation of the identity program, University Relations and Development and UMD Printing Services.
