Dear Faculty and Staff of UMD,

Thank you for the work you do every day making a difference in the lives of our learning community. As faculty and staff, we participate in the life cycle of giving by Paying it Forward each and every day – we help our students, our colleagues and our community.

Your gift of time, talent and treasure reaches every corner of our campus and uplifts the learning experiences of our students. You educate, advise and help students have a successful tenure while here. Relationships are begun on campus and strengthened throughout the college experience. You also establish student scholarships, provide resources that enable students to participate in experiential learning opportunities and invest in the future of our campus community.

As faculty and staff Pay it Forward, our students will become alumni who remember most favorably their educational experiences at UMD. This positive experience many times is the catalyst that brings them back to campus to participate in classroom lectures, return as faculty, serve on committees and boards, mentor and hire students and alumni. Alumni also establish student scholarships, provide resources that enable students to participate in experiential learning opportunities and invest in the future of our campus community.
