BohH 90: Playing an Audio Cassette

  1. Obtain the keys.
  2. Unlock and open the equipment cabinet door.
  3. Turn on the classroom technology control system.
  4. Press the TAPE button on the control panel.
  5. Press POWER to switch on the cassette player.
  6. Check Deck I Pitch Cont knob.
  7. Insert your cassette tape.
  8. Press the PLAY button.
  9. Adjust the sound.
  10. Press the STOP button when finished.
  11. Eject your tape.
  12. Turn off the system.
  13. Close and lock the equipment cabinet door.

1. Obtain the keys.

The equipment cabinet key may be requested by departments or by faculty teaching in this room.

Classroom keys and building master keys do not open these locks. Departments with faculty or staff needing access to the AV /computer equipment may want to have a key in their department office available for checkout. Or faculty and staff who make frequent use of classroom equipment may want to request a key for their personal use. In either case, a key request card must be completed, signed by the Dean or Department Head, and delivered to Facilities Management Key Shop. "AV Cabinets" must be printed at the top of the card to specify that the requested key is for the equipment cabinet and not for the room itself. A separate key request card for the room must be completed to obtain a room key.

2. Unlock and open the cabinet doors.

A.V. equipment is located in the equipment cabinet/podium at the front of the room. This cabinet has two locks. Use the equipment cabinet key to unlock them.

One lock is located at the top, right side of the cabinet door.

Then open the doors.

3. Turn on the classroom technology control system.

This classroom is equipped with a control system panel that eliminates individual remote controls and power switches.

The control panel is located on top of the podium.

It is on the right side in the top right corner.

Press the ON button.

This button is the top, left one on the control panel.

The projector will begin warming up. After two to three minutes the projector will be ready for use.

4. Press the TAPE button on the control panel.

This button is on the right of the control panel, third from the bottom.

5. Press POWER to switch on the cassette player.

The unit is normally left on, but if it isn't press it's power button.

The power button is the leftmost button on the front of the unit.

6. Check Deck I Pitch Cont knob.

Be sure the Deck I Pitch Cont. knob is set to the center for normal tape speed.

The Deck I Pitch Control knob is on the mid front of the unit.

7. Insert your cassette tape.

Press the Deck EJECT button to open Deck I.

The eject button is on in middle top portion on the front of the unit.

Insert your tape.

The cassette insertion area is on the left side on the front of the unit.

8. Press the PLAY button.

The play button is located in the middle section on the front of the unit.

9. Adjust the sound.

The control panel has several buttons to control and adjust sound.

You can mute, raise, or lower it.

Volume Buttons
There are two volume buttons. Press the second button from the top on the left side of the control panel to increase the volume. Press the button directly below that one to decrease the volume.
Mute Button
Press it once to cut the sound. Press it a second time to restore the sound. This button is the on the left side, on the bottom of the control panel.

10. Press the STOP button when finished.

The play button is located in the middle section on the front of the unit.

11. Eject your tape.

The play button is located in the middle section on the front of the unit.

12. Turn off the system.

This button is the top, right one on the control panel.

The projector lamp will turn off. Approximately one second after that the, lamp will be cooled for about a minute. Then the system will be completely shut off.

13. Close and lock the equipment cabinet door.

Close and lock the doors using the equipment key.

One lock is located at the top, right side of the cabinet door.
