Empowering students to succeed - the Supportive Services Program (SSP) annually serves more than 1200 students through classes, workshops, academic advising, Teaching Assistant opportunities, and the UMD Tutoring Center. "These classes will help you immensely as you transition from high school to college. They provide you with the opportunity to take your college experience by the reins so you can get the most out of your four years at UMD." - Matt W. SSP Student & TA Our lower division courses are designed especially for first-and-second-year undergraduates. These classes are devoted to learning which helps ease the sometimes rocky transition to University academics. The upper division courses offer opportunities to learn and practice communication, leadership, and teaching skills while also enriching a student's particular interest in a given discipline.
